The property is located 28km west of Sooke, accessed by logging road north of the West Coast Hwy., or from the logging road that runs east-west on the south side of Loss Creek. Access from the south is from Shawnigan Lake on the Kapoor Main Line and turning onto the West Jordan Mainline Rd., which is gated and runs right through the claims. Alternate access is from Otter Bay Rd in Sooke ., turning onto Butler Rd and the gate at the beginning of the Butler Mainline which runs along the bear creek reservoir and then turns north to join the West Jordan Mainline Rd. Access roads are normally gated by Timberwest. A key is required to access their gate. Their gate-key application includes a $500 deposit. The property covers 600 metres of frontage on both sides of the Bear Creek, and 150 metres on frontage on both sides of Jordan River. These 2 waterways are closest in proximity to Mt. Valentine as they are located at the flank of the mountain. The claim centre is at latitude 48.503898° longitude -123.935704°.
GEOLOGY:
The Leech River fault spans west to Port Renfrew and East to Goldstream Park. The 2 waterways that underlie the property, are among those located in the closest proximity, generally speaking, to Mt. Valentine, considered thus far to be the most obvious lode source for gold bearing gravels in this area.
