OLIVINE PLATINUM GOLD Placer Mining Claim $4000 for 100%

20.99 hectares (51.86 acres). The property is comprised of BC placer tenure 1066075. The property lies 7.5 km southwest of the community of Tulameen, British Columbia (as the crow flies). From Coquihalla Pass on Highway 5 (Britton Creek Rest Area) proceed south on Tulameen Forest Service Rd. for approx 25 km., turning right to cross the Tulameen River on Champion Creek Rd., which cuts between Lodestone and Olivine Mountain. Continue per the mapped route for approx. 20 km to the site. The walk is across flat ground directly to the claim. The claim centre is at latitude 49.489440° longitude -120.866870°. Forestry roads allow access to the north portion of the claim. The property covers approximately 1.1 km of creek frontage, and is completely underlain by crown land.

The underlying and surrounding area has part of geochemical exploration which  confirms soil anomalies in the underlying ground for gold, platinum and palladium:

The underlying area has also been subject to geophysical mapping:

(From Minfile 092HNE198) Olivine (Slate) Creek flows northeastward from the west flank of Lodestone Mountain for 11 kilometres, before entering the Tulameen River 4.5 kilometres west of the town of Tulameen. The stream initially passes through a deep but flat-floored valley, 6 kilometres long, before encountering a short canyon, and then a series of waterfalls, just above its mouth. The more extensive gravel deposits are found in the broader parts of the valley above the falls. In one section, the gravels are 1.8 to 2.4 metres deep and thicken downstream.

A large amount of coarse gold and platinum were recovered from the creek's gravels, mostly from the valley above the canyon. One gold nugget found in 1886 weighed 393 grams (Minister of Mines Annual Report 1886, page 198).

The gravels were mined between 1886 and 1900. Estimated production for this period is 37,800 grams of gold. The creek was extensively explored underground for an old channel above and below the falls, and at its mouth, between 1925 and 1931. One tunnel excavated above the falls was 670 metres long. A shaft sunk from this tunnel is reported to have intersected gold and platinum-bearing gravels containing boulders of pyroxenite, peridotite and dunite (Minister of Mines Annual Report 1928, page 271).

(From Minfile 092HNE199) Some of the richest placers mined in the Tulameen district occur along the upper Tulameen River, in the canyon between Champion and Olivine creeks, both in the river bed and in adjacent gravel benches.

(Economic Geology of the Platinum Metals, USGS 1969 p. 31) Gold is almost everywhere more plentiful in these (Tulameen area) placers than the platinum metals. The gold platinum ratio was found to be…ranging from 4:1 in the lower Tulameen Valley to 1:1 in the valley of Olivine Creek.

A brief 2019 sampling program consisting of 4 shallow pits up to 18” revealed picker size gold in surface gravels.
