PERRY CREEK GOLD

Placer Mining Claim $3000 for 100%

Location:

BC placer tenure 1097000. 21.01 hectares / 51.91 acres. The property is located 27 km west-southwest “as the crow flies” of the City of Cranbrook, British Columbia. From Cranbrook, proceed northwest on Wycliffe Rd for 12 km, turning left on Perry Creek Road. Continue for 12 km to the historic settlement of Old Town. From Old Town, follow the forest service road that runs along Perry Creek for approx. 22 km. to the property. Several other road accesses are also possible and maps are available. The claim is comprised of 1 MTO cell, accessible by year round road and is underlain completely by crown land. The claim covers a continuous ~750 metres section of frontage on both the west and east side of Perry Creek. The approximate claim centre is at latitude 49.431176° longitude -116.135407°.

Geology:

The hills around the property consist of rocks of the Creston formation. The river valley has rocks of the Upper Aldridge formation. Several gold bearing quartz veins are located in the surrounding hills.(From ARIS 19563) Perry Creek has been subjected to various placer and vein mining and exploration. During the late 19th Century and early 20th century the area downstream from the Leases was quite active with a number of small placer operations. Since then only minor scale operations have been and continue to be undertaken by small operators.Large quantities of gold have been economically taken from the river system at a "false" clay bedrock interface or hardpan and from the bedrock surface in the canyons. Near the site of "Old Town", a portion of the creek, (the Jewel Box), that ran through a canyon, yielded in excess of a reported 150,000 ounces of gold production from bedrock. In total, the reported production of gold in the entire river system was 200,000 ounces.Bill Barlee described Perry Creek as “One of the best placer creeks in the East Kootenay…Rich from surface to bedrock with the latter being very rich in places…and the gold always occurred where the heavy, black ironstone was encountered.” (N.L. Barlee 1973) Gold Creeks and Ghost Towns. Canada West Publications.). Placer miners active on Perry Creek report finding best results on the “blue clay layer” at an average depth of 5-6 feet. Average fineness of gold is 900 (90% purity).

This specific property is underlain by the rock units described in the Petra showing (Minfile 082FSE121).
